Special Occasions
We enjoy various special events throughout the year. The worship service may be different, sometimes a guest musical group or even a pastor. Of course, we love to share the yummy dishes lovingly prepared by all so a covered dish dinner is usually included!
Homecoming
The first weekend in August in Homecoming. This is a special time for people who have moved away to come and catch up. Many people travel to come back to visit the church of their youth. This celebration includes special music by a local gospel group, sometimes a guest pastor, and follows with a covered dish dinner.
Hanging Rock State Park Outdoor Service (Sept)
Usually in late September, we meet at Hanging Rock State Park for an outdoor service among God’s beautiful creation. We follow that with a great cookout where everyone leaves full of joy, friendship, and food
Advent Season as we Prepare for Christmas
Our Hanging of the Greens service ushers in the Christmas season on the first Sunday in Advent. As we collectively decorate the church sanctuary, we learn about the background of various symbols used and joyously sing lots of Christmas carols .
